1. Who is responsible (Verantwortlicher)
The controller responsible for data processing on this website under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR / DSGVO) is:
Berlin Bridge
Raheela Nas & Mehar Zeeshan
House No. 170, Street 33
Islamabad 53800, Pakistan
Email: hello@berlinbridge.de
Full provider details are in our Impressum.
2. What we collect, and why
Server logs. When you visit, our hosting provider (Vercel Inc.) automatically processes technical data — IP address, browser type, referring page, date and time — to deliver the site securely. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a functioning, secure website). These logs are short-lived and not used to identify you.
Contact requests. If you email us or message us on WhatsApp, we process the data you send (name, contact details, message) solely to answer your enquiry. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual steps) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. WhatsApp is operated by Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.; using it is optional and we only see what you choose to send.
3. Cookies & consent (§25 TTDSG)
Our website is usable without any non-essential cookies. We only store or read information on your device that is not strictly necessary after you give consent via our cookie banner, in line with §25 TTDSG and Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.
Until you click “Accept analytics”, Google Analytics is held in a denied state through Google Consent Mode v2 and sets no analytics cookies. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via the “Cookie settings” link in the footer — withdrawal is as easy as giving consent and does not affect past lawful processing.
4. Google Analytics 4
With your consent we use Google Analytics 4, a service of Google Ireland Ltd. (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland), to understand anonymously which classes and guides are useful. We have enabled IP anonymisation (anonymize_ip) and disabled Google Signals and advertising features — we never use your data for ads.
Legal basis: your consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA; transfers are covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. You can withdraw consent any time via “Cookie settings”. More: Google Privacy Policy.
5. How long we keep data
Contact correspondence is kept only as long as needed to handle your request and to meet legal retention duties. Analytics data is retained for a maximum of 14 months. Server logs are deleted on a short rolling basis.
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access your data (Art. 15)
- rectification (Art. 16) and erasure (Art. 17)
- restriction of processing (Art. 18)
- data portability (Art. 20)
- object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21)
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting prior processing
To exercise any of these, email hello@berlinbridge.de. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (e.g. the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection, Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit).
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site or the law evolves. The date at the top reflects the current version.
